violinist, bandmaster, 8.apr.1880 his family emigrated to the USA, 1894 as musician residing with his widowed mother and brother musician Richard C Abel (1875-) at 235 South 9th Street in Lincoln Nebraska, 1894-1897 violinist in the newly organized Philharmonic Society in Lincoln, 11.jun.1897 after having supplied the music for the German societies of Lincoln for some years he left for a season in Lacrosse Wisconsin and was offered a farewell ball and concert at the Plattdeutsche Hall, 1899 formed Abel's Concert Orchestra, 1899-1901 as musician of the August Hagenow's Band & Orchestra residing at 829 L in Lincoln, 25.sep.1904 he was engaged to conduct the bands at the Jacksonville Carnival, 1905-1907 as music teacher residing at 222 Hogan Street in Jacksonville, he played in the First Regiment Band of Florida, musical director of the Ladies Friday Musicale, he died by drowning caught by the undertow while swimming in the surf at Pablo Beach ; son of Charles Abel (Germany 18??-15.jun.1893 Hooper Nebraska, bur Lincoln) and Pauline Geschke (Germany dec.1854-a1923 Lincoln) ; 24.may.1894 at St. Boniface in Quincy Illinois he married Catharina Henrica Vandenboom (Quincy 20.aug.1876-22.nov.1950 Quincy), divorced ; 3.jul.1902 in Ashland Kentucky he married Mayme Plymale (Catlettsburg mar.1880-)
