organist, choirmaster, grew up in Zanesville Ohio, 1938 graduated from Lash High School in Zanesville, 1947 BSc in music education from Ohio University in Athens, 1949 MM in church music from Union Theological Seminary in New York, studied at Columbia University in New York, 1940 studied organ privately with Allen Raymond Kresge in Athens, 1948 in New York he studied organ with Clarence Dickinson, organ improvisation with Frederick Schleider, piano with Paul Fontaine, conducting with Lowell Beveridge and Alfred Greenfield, voice with Corleen Wells, Philip Peterson, Mrs. Helen Dickinson and Mrs. W H Neidlinger, 1938 organist of the First Baptist Curch in Zanesville, 1940 organist of the First Westminster Presbyterian Church in Athens, 1941-1948 residing at 229 Columbia Street in Zanesville, 1941 organist of the First Christian Church in Athens, taught at Rufus Putnam Training School and the High School in Athens, 1948 organist/choirmaster of South Congregational Church in Middletown Connecticut, 1949-1986 organist/choirmaster of the Fredericksburg Methodist Church, 1949 director of choral music at James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg, 1952 residing at 1204 Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg, 27.jul.2003 still residing in Fredericksburg when he played the organ at a 'Christmas in July' singspiration at the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, he died at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg while residing in Round Hill Virginia
