violinist, bass singer, born in Italy with austrian nationality, studied violin and voice at Milan Conservatory, studied voice with Wilhelm Ganz at the Academy of Music in London, 17.oct.1864 as mediocre violinist he appeared in the Promenade Concerts at the opening of the Strand Musick Hall in London, 1868 as mediocre bass he sang at the Academy of Music in London, Nov 1871 as professor of singing he arrived in London from Milan, now with a cultivated voice appearing in public as bass singer, among others at the Society of Fine Arts and St George's Hall, he made a living as teacher of singing, also at Wilhelm Ganz' Harley Academy, 1881 as vocalist and professor of singing lodging at 13 Westbourne Terrace in London Paddington, 1891-1917 on private means residing with his wife and 3 servants (parlormaid, housemaid, cook) at 8 Avenue Crescent in Mill Hill Park Acton (that they could live on private means after 1900 was because his wife inherited a fortune after her father's death, but how he could do that already in 1891 at the age of 48 is unclear, he made a small fortune with his compositions which were published and performed throughout Europe, and he may have made a small fortune as singing teacher, but unlikely it was that much that he could live on private means in 1891), 1900 his wife also inherited a second house at 88 Arundel Road in Littlehampton where she erected a monumental grave for him at Broadwater Cemetery in Worthing ; son of gentleman Anton Adelmann (Austria-) ; 25.mar.1885 at St Stephen in London Paddington he married the gentleman coach trimmer's daughter Emily Mary Nelder (London Shoreditch 1.feb.1850-27.jul.1930 Acton)
