violinist, choral conductor, bandmaster, railroad agent by profession, 1881 his family moved to Blunt South Dakota, then to Iroquois South Dakota and Pipestone Minnesota, 1900-1901 residing in Perkins Iowa he served as railroad agent for the Great Northern Railway in Hull Iowa, 1904-1908 in Plainview Nebraska, 22.feb.1908 as violinist and conductor of the orchestra of the Methodist Church he gave a concert at the opera house of Plainview, 1910 in Meckling South Dakota, 1914-1915 in Delmont South Dakota, 1914 musician and instructor of the Delmont concert band, 1915 his 8 year old daughter Carrie fell under a train after which one leg had to be amputated, 1918 as railroad agent for the Milwaukee Railroad he moved to Akron Iowa, 1920 until retirement as railroad agent for the Great Northern Railway residing in Akron Iowa, after retirement he settled in Grover South Dakota, he died of influenza at a nursing home in nearby Watertown and was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Akron Iowa ; son of farmer Samuel Fitch Akers (Ohio Brown, Union 13.jul.1840-27.apr.1904 Iowa, Sioux City) and Mary Ellen Maxwell (Pennsylvania, Leesburg 1.dec.1850-28.oct.1924 Iowa, Council Bluffs) ; 30.dec.1900 in Hull Iowa he married Ethel Gertrude McDeid (Iowa, Sac City 7.dec.1879-11.dec.1918 Iowa, Akron (influenza)) ; 27.mar.1927 in Mount Carroll Illinois he married Beatrice Eva Hillman (Wisconsin, Wauzeka 16.mar.1901-1968 Watertown)
