pianist, bandmaster, music teacher, 14.feb.1901 he played piano in the minstrels entertainment 'Coons of Blackville' at the grand opera house of Grand Rapids with 'not an empty seat from the bald-head row to the nigger heaven', 1908 he purchased a harp, 1909 studied piano tuning in Valparaiso Indiana, 1917-1920 musician at the local theatre of Big Timber Montana residing there at 2nd Avenue East, 1919 music teacher at the city high and city schools of Big Timber, 1930 as accountant residing at 331 2nd Street in Port Edwards Wisconsin, 1929-1940 residing at Market Street in Port Edwards Wisconsin, 8.jun.1934 and again 29.jun.1939 appointed postmaster of Port Edwards' postoffice, 1942 as employee of Consolidated Wisconsin Rapids residing at 321 4th Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids, 26.mar.1945 Cleve Akey's Orchestra played at the Living Music Day concert at Lincoln Fieldhouse sponsored by the American Federation of Musicians, 1951 private teacher music, piano and accordion, 1952 bandmaster of the Municipal Band of Wisconsin Rapids, he died at the Wolff Nursing Home in Arpin near Wisconsin Rapids, he was buried at Calvary Cemetery Wisconsin Rapids, on his gravestone his birthdate is erroneously inscribed as 21.sep.1883 ; son of hotel keeper Hannah M Dolan Akey (Canada Ontario, Emily 13.jan.1863-26.apr.1950 Wisconsin Rapids) ; 1912 he married Margaret Leahy (Wisconsin, Wausau 18.oct.1889-9.jan.1966 Wisconsin Rapids)
