Alba (ne Hava Ferre), Juan Antonio 7.dec.1873-1940 Spain, Reus - Chile, Santiago
guitarist, studied with Jose Maria Ballve, studied harmony, solfege, singing, piano, organ and later guitar, bandura, mandolin, lute, banjo and harp, as a youth he traveled the USA, 1890 emigrated to Chile, 1895 director and conductor of Sociedad de Beneficiencia de Valparaiso, a few years later he became professor of guitar in Santiago de Chile

[Pedrell 1894 gives erroneously born 15.nov.1870]
[Zuth 1926 gives his name erroneously as Emilio Alba, probably as a misreading of Alba Emilia (i.e. the habanera Emilia by Alba), as a result the catalogs of the Union Musical Espagnola Madrid includes the same compositions recorded both under Antonio Alba and Emilio Alba]
