engineer, amateur pianist and composer, 1906-1908 graduated in engineering from the University of Chicago where he was member of the Glee Club, 1907-1910 as surveyor traveling Asia, Africa and Europe, 1910 published an English-Visayan Dictionary, 1919-1940 engineer/designer and director of the Port of Houston Texas, 1919-1930 residing at 1205 Rochford Avenue in Houston, 1935-1942 as designer and administrator of the Port of Stockton residing at 120 East Magnolia Street in Stockton California, 29.jan.1939 president of the San Joaquin Composers Society, 1942-1955 as engineer for San Francisco Bay residing at 966 Hilldale Avenue in Berkeley California, 1945 director of the Greater Miami Port, member of the Durant Masonic Lodge of Berkeley, the Oakland Scottish Rite Bodies No.320 and the Islam Shrine Temple, for 9 years on the council of the Eighth District of the Episcopal Church, vice-president of the California Composers Society, he served as engineer, captain in WWI and colonel in WWII and was buried as Benjamin Casey Allin III (for an unknown reason because his grandfather's name was Philip Trapnall Allin) at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno California ; son of insurance agent Benjamin Casey Allin sr. (I) (Kentucky, Harrodsburg 1.nov.1846-10.jun.1902 Chicago) and Josephine Agusta Turner (Kentucky, Henderson 23.sep.1852-9.oct.1943 Chicago) ; 24.may.1913 in Chicago he married Dorothy May Newell (Chicago 15.dec.1890-19.jan.1980 Berkeley) ; son Benjamin Casey Allin III (Chicago 15.apr.1914-9.aug.2004 Sonoma)
