organist, Civil War veteran, emigrated with his wife to the USA settling in New York and later in Red Bank New Jersey, 1862 enlisted in Company B 3rd Cavalry Regiment New Jersey Volunteers, 1862 captain and 16.aug.1862-8.jun.1865 major of Company G 14th Regiment New Jersey Volunteers, 1870 as music teacher residing in Red Bank, 1879 moved to Long Branch New Jersey where he ran a music store for 25 years, 1879-1906 organist of the Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea in Long Branch, regent of Long Branch No. 429 Royal Arcanum, member of Arrowsmith Post G.A.R. of Red Bank and the New York Musical Union ; brother of composer Harold K Allstrom ; he married Sophie Boye (Sweden 3.dec.1833-3.mar.1902 Long Branch)
