pianist, 1913-1924 grew up in Rochester NY where she was educated at East High School, studied piano with Selim Palmgren at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, billed as 'the whirlwind pianiste' she concertized throughout America and abroad and played at the White House for both presidents Roosevelt and Truman, she had her own radio program for several years on Radio WOR in New York City, recorded over 500 piano rolls for Duo-Art, 1944-1950 residing at 1505 Grand Concourse in Bronx, after a cruise 21.dec.1951-7.jan.1952 which she made without her husband residing at 1498 Astoria Park East in Bronx ; daughter of painter/tailor Samuel A Alpert (Russia 1878-1919 Rochester) and opera soprano/shirt retailer Anna Rosh (Russia 1886-a1925) who married 2.apr.1905 in Manhattan ; sister of violinist/pianist Ethel Alpert (Rochester 5.sep.1915-) ; 8.sep.1940 she married dermatologist Dr. Sidney B Rooff (New York 8.may.1901-28.mar.1968 Bronx)
