teacher voice, arranger, studied music with Benjamin Dwight Allen and Benjamin C Blodgett in Boston, studied singing with George L Osgood in Boston and tenor William Shakespeare in London, 1880 as music teacher residing with his parents in Ware, made his home in Worcester where he managed a large choir at Central Church, also taught singing in Springfield, Holyoke and Hartford, among his pupils was Henry Dike Sleeper (Maine, Patton 9.oct.1865-), 1887 vocal teacher and conductor at 165 Tremont Street in Boston, 9.dec/4.mar/13.may.1888 he conducted The Gounod Club choir at the YMCA Hall in Boston, 10.dec.1889 he conducted the Hosmer Hall Choral Society chorus of 200 in Hartford, 2.jan.1890 he conducted a chorus of 100 in a Oratorio Concert at Central Church in Worcester, 29 and 30.apr.1894 he conducted his pupils in the oratorio Messiah at Central Church, 2 days later he died aged 36 from diabetes aggravated by overwork ; son of shoemaker Nathaniel Holmes Anderson (Ware 13.jan.1822-1.jun.1901 Ware) and Lavasta Ruggles (Enfield 18.nov.1815-23.mar.1890 Ware)
