amateur but very active and successful theatre and film composer, he conducted his own works but for the productions of his musicals at the London theatres and recordings by Hammer-British Lion the conductor was always James Elder Wills, 1901 residing with his parents and a servant at 22 Haycroft Road in Brixton, 1921-1926 residing with his parents at Thorn Lodge on Mulgrave Road in Epsom Surrey, 1933-1951 as London manager of Manchester Walker & Co. Engineers residing with wife and son at 26 Southway in Carshalton Beeches Surrey, 11.dec.1944 he became corporate member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers, 17.apr.1952-6.apr.1961 he acquired the copyright of all his father's compositions, unknown to whom the copyrights were transferred which were already obtained by his mother, at time of death residing at Gentle Harrys Cottage in Chiltington ; son of composer John Ansell and Rosetta 'Rosa' Frank (London Chelsea 1873-1953 Surrey) ; 1927 in London Lambeth he married Edith 'Edie' Agnes Tarrant (Lambeth 13.jun.1896-1978 Sussex, Worthing)
