violinist, singer, maitre de musique, 1733-1750 residing in Valenciennes, 1731-1732 and 1750-1760 conductor of the Comedie Francaise at the Casuariestraat in Den Haag Netherlands, at the same time also remaining active in France, 1751 he and his wife became members of the newly founded freemason lodge 'La Loge de Juste' which was dissolved the same year because of a dubious reputation, 1756-nov.1759 director of the Comedie Francaise, nov.1759-1767 leaving the direction to Francoise Gravillon, 31.jul.1759 arrived at Calais from Holland, 14.jul.1760 residing in Den Haag ; 20.mar.1728 in Montpellier he married singer/actress Francoise Gravillon (France, Lyon 2.oct.1710-13.apr.1781 Den Haag) ; son Pierre (Den Haag 9.may.1731-), son actor/musician Jacques Baptiste (Den Haag 15.sep.1732-), son musician/actor Joseph Francois (Valenciennes 16.jul.1736-2.oct.1809 Juvisy-sur-Orge), son musician Joseph Jean Baptiste (Valenciennes 12.mar.1739-), daughter singer/actress Rose Albertine Francoise 'Rosette Baptiste' (Valenciennes 21.sep.1740-)
