pianist, organist, studied piano with Ernesto Tirado, mainly autodidact in composition, 1936 organist of the parish church Nuestra Senora del Carmen where he had been church member and singer in the choir for 49 years, conductor of parish church choirs and orchestras, bandmaster of municipal bands and founder of several string quartets in the Andean region, he was a very productive composer whose works are still performed and their melodies known by everyone in the region
