manufacturer of gold and silver works, 17.jul.1841 he founded his jewelry store in Deventer, 1851 moved his store to Amsterdam, he co-founded the Amsterdamsche vereeniging 'Cecilia', he was appointed member of the jury at the World Exhibition in Paris 1855, later in London and Geneva, 1861 he established his factory in Batavia, he founded and conducted the Bataviasche Maatschappij 'Toonkunst-Aurora', 1874 being a humble benefactor he was decorated by Pope Pius IX the Orde van den Heiligen Sylvester, 1878 he was decorated by King Willem III Ridder der Eikenkroon for his merits as a manufacturer, he was member of the vereeniging Arts Unis, the Academie Nationale and the British Academy, 16.sep.1883 in Batavia he celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary ; 16.sep.1858 in Amsterdam he married Lucia Francisca Meuser (Amsterdam 19.nov.1840-)
