pianist, conductor, his regular job was piano salesman, also erroneously named Jon, Ian and John, 1870 he was raised by his widowed mother and his sister Ellen in Marion Clinton Ohio, 1880 as music teacher boarding at Charles Lewis Hotel in Sidney Ohio, 1885 as Ion Arnold & Co. he sold pianos at Steinway Hall 123 North Main Street in Wichita Kansas where he lived with his widowed mother and his widowed sister Julia, 1888 as piano salesman residing at 153 North 10th Street in Philadelphia, 1893 representing the Chicago Cottage Organ Co. and Conover Piano Co. at the Chicago World's Fair, 1896 with George Morgan he started a music publishing Arnold & Morgan Co. in New York City
, 1902 he started a fictional music publishing Ion Arnold & Co. under E T Paull Co. at 46 West 28th Street in New York, 1904 salesman of Parlor Piano Co. in Cincinnati, residing at Pleasant Ridge, 1906-1907 manager of the music publishing F G Thearle & Co. in Chicago Englewood, 12.jul.1907 he conducted the Bunge's Band during an 'Arnold Night' in his honor at Bismarck Gardens in Chicago Englewood, 27.oct.1915 he managed H J Smith's big piano sale in Racine Wisconsin, 1924-1934 as coffee salesman retired in 1935 residing in a hotel on 346 South Main Street in Los Angeles ; youngest of six children of physician (University of Missouri Columbia 1846) J L Arnold (New York 1823-c1862 Spencer) and Margaret A Browning (Kentucky jul.1824-a1900 Marion, surviving 3 of her children) ; brother of Ellen (Kentucky, Letcher 1847-), Julia (Ohio Henry, Flatrock apr.1850-) and real estate agent Otto (Spencer 24.oct.1854-24.jun.1945 Los Angeles) ; 10.jun.1901 aged 43 in Cincinnati he married 22 year old Estelle Brockman (Cincinnati 14.jun.1879-11.aug.1933 Cincinnati), divorced c1905
