organist, born at 16 Gordon House Road Gospel Oak, mainly self-taught in music but studied with Cecil Hazelhurst, W F Jordan and William Lloyd Webber, 1933 FRCO, 1928-1939 residing with his parents at 131 Station Road in London Finchley, he held several posts as organist in London, 1946 after military service in South Africa he settled in Cape Town, 1946 organist of the Metropolitan Methodist Church in Cape Town, 1948-31.dec.1962 teacher organ at the South African College of Music in Cape Town, he was very active as concert and recital organist, he composed quite some works but did not publish anything ; son of cabinet maker Alfred John Arnold (London 1874-1933 London St Albans) and Elizabeth (London 3.aug.1878-) ; 1940 in London Hampstead he married Jean Agnes Nancy Boon (London Lewisham 2.feb.1913-)
