amateur violinist, 1881 in London lodging with her grandparents she received her first musical training from
professor Otto Peiniger in London Harrow, 1885-1891 studied violin with Charles Dancla at the Paris
Conservatoire, still in her teens she became well-known in Burmah, Calcutta and Madras as the best lady violinist
of India, 20.feb.1891 she played several classical solos in a Signor Pescio concert at the Town Hall in Bombay,
1891 lodging with her grandparents in London, 8.jun.1892 she debuted 'highly promising before a large and
enthousiastic audience' at Prince's Hall London, 1901 as professor of violin visiting family in Hove Sussex,
1911 aged 39 still single as teacher of violin 'visiting' the 39 year old still single teacher of music Rosalie
Ethel Trimingham at 9 Prince's Terrace in Brighton Sussex, 1917-1926 permanently living there with Rosalie,
1928-1936 residing with Rosalie at Eastwold House Newlands Road in Rottingdean ;
daughter of colonel Stephen Edward Atkinson (India, Trichinopoly 22.sep.1841-9.feb.1925 Sussex, Brighton) and
Alice Richardson (London Paddington 18.may.1851-27.oct.1885 India, Chennai) ; she never married but at least
from 1917 until death 1936 she lived permanently together with pianist/teacher of music Rosalie Ethel Trimingham (Barbados
6.feb.1872-11.nov.1953 Brighton, while residing at Eastwold House Rottingdean)
