1.jun.1807 baptized at the Evangelische Kirche in his birthplace Hohenlimburg, studied music with Louis Spohr, 1832-1843 furstlichen musikdirektor in service of furst Moritz Casimir zu Bentheim-Tecklenburg (1795-1872) and his wife Agnes (1804-1866) mainly at their castle in Rheda but also at their residence in Hohenlimburg, 1840 until May 1843 he resided with his wife in Rheda, his wife and children were still living at their home in Rheda at least until 30.may.1843 so it is most likely he died in Rheda, although he may have actually died in his hometown Hohenlimburg or any other place ; son of Johann Peter Attern (1780-) and Anna Catharina Elisabeth Kreinberg (1781-) who married 6.jul.1803 in Wiblingwerde ; 9.apr.1840 in Rheda and 25.apr.1840 at the Evangelische Kirche Elsey in Hohenlimburg he married Maria Ida Louise Ueberhorst (Hohenlimburg 20.jun.1820-) ; son Engelbert Friederich Carl (Rheda 19.may.1841-10.feb.1844 Hohenlimburg), son Louis (born Rheda 6.apr.1842, baptized Rheda 30.may.1843)
