tenor singer, piano dealer, music teacher, assumed composer of the listed compositions { even though the 'Mischief polka' by an unidentified Charles Atwood became very popular and remained on the repertoire for nearly 20 years, he published only two compositions } about the assumed composer : 1900 as musician residing with his parents at 12 Austin Street in Boston Newton, 1900-1925 he sang in many concerts in Boston (Masonic Temple, St Mark's, First Baptist Church), 1909-1912 as piano dealer residing with his first wife Adalyn at 38 Marcastle Road in Boston, 14.feb.1912-10.jun.1925 freemason of Dalhousie Lodge Newton, 14.sep.1918 as piano dealer residing in Corsicana Texas, still giving Adalyn as his nearest relative while she had suited for divorce two years earlier, 1925-1935 residing with his second wife Mae Gertrude at First Street in Bandon Oregon where he was supervisor and teacher of music and his wife music and art teacher of the Bandon High School, also conductor of the Bandon Concert Band and director of the glee club Forest Grove, 4.sep.1935 he moved to Portland Oregon where he became in charge of a 70-piece park band, 1936 while residing with his wife at 5621 Brooklyn Avenue in Seattle he was employed as teacher of music at 14th Washington Street in Portland and died after an operation at Clare Hospital in Clare Michigan ; son of merchant dry goods Joseph Locke Atwood (Massachusetts, Chatham 27.jun.1852-8.apr.1925 Newton) and Mercy Ellen 'Nellie' Weston (Massachusetts, Salem aug.1851-22.apr.1928 Newton) ; 14.aug.1909 in Newton he married the divorced Adalyn Millett nee Wright (Maine, Lyndon aug.1871-), 22.apr.1916 she suited for divorce on charge of habits of intoxication and refusal to provide means of support ; 30.dec.1925 in Olympia Washington he married music teacher Mae Gertrude Guild (Detroit 11.may.1900-2.oct.1993 Seattle)
