Auersperg, Furst J von 18??-?? Bohemia, ? - Bohemia or Austria, ?
Graf J von Auersperg, 'von Auersperg' being a family name, not the name of a city or county (although
originating from an ancestral castle Auersperg), the family had many
branches with many members titled Graf and among them several with an initial J (Johann, Josef), almost all of
them amateur musicians, making it difficult to identify the composer of the listed work
possibly Graf Josef von Auersperg, 17.may.1850 arrived with his family from Bohemia at a 'Gasthofen' in Vienna
Austria, 1851-1852 as forest owner Graf Josef von Auersperg contributed to the bohmischen Forstvereins ;
he may have been a grandson or a son of Graf Josef von Auersperg (Prague 1767-1829 Brunn/Brno) lawyer, senior district
judge and regional court president in Prague and owner of Schloss Hartenberg, including a theatre, near Falkenau
an der Eger (Sokolov), a man of science, owner of a large important library, on his invitation Goethe celebrated
his 70th and 72nd birthday there
Johann Hoffmann founded his music publishing house on 1.feb.1839, after his death in 1849 continued by his widow
as Joh. Hoffmann's Wwe and after her death by their children still as Joh. Hoffmann's Wwe, so the 'Alte
Jagdfanfare' probably dates from any year after 1849 and certainly before 1906 when it was listed in Pazdirek
