pianist, studied law at Tartu University, c1940 pianist in the Kuldne Seitse jazz ensemble in Estonia, 17.aug.1944 he fled with his mother to Sweden after his father was deported to Russia by the Germans, 1948 pianist in the Estonian Harmonists vocal ensemble, 1951 he moved with his mother to Canada Montreal, from 1951 active as pianist in Montreal, 1953 as musician residing with his wife Maud at Rue Villeray 1260 Apartment 15 (hotel) in Montreal Papineau, 1968 as musician residing alone at Pratt Avenue 1000 Apartment 702 (hotel) in Montreal Outremont, 1970 conductor of the Montreal Youth Mixed Choir, 1970-1985 music teacher at College d'enseignement general et professionnel de Quebec ; son of Estonian Navy ship captain Niilo Avarmaa (Estonia, Tahkuranna 13.jul.1888-19??) and Elisabeth 'Lisa' Sokk (Tartu 11.sep.1885-24.may.1954 Montreal Outremont) ; 1953 he was married to Maud ; after 1968 he married Celine Reny-Chevalot
