pianist, 1867 at the age of 19 he had already gained a world-wide fame as virtuoso pianist and was the accompanist of tenor Enrico Tamberlick, 3.mar.1867 he gave a concert on the new piano-harmonica in St Petersburg, 1867-1869 pianist to S. A. I. the Grand Duchess Maria Nikolayevna of Russia and professor at the Institute Imperial Nikolay for noble young girls in St Petersburg, 1868 he refused an offer to direct the higher piano courses at Moscow Conservatory because he preferred to stay in St Petersburg, 11.apr.1870 he gave a concert at salle Pleyel in Paris, he died aged 46 after a long illness at Hospital Beaujon in Paris
