trumpeter, unknown why he added Faber to his surname on his publications, studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, from an early age he was double bassist at the theatre of Rouen where c1808 he played in the opera La Vestale conducted by the composer Spontini himself, later he traveled Belgium, teacher of the trumpet class at Ecole de musique que la Convention in Versailles, c1826 trompette-major in a regiment de la garde royale of king Charles X [Fetis, so dubious], under de auspices of a distinguished amateur who had heard him play at the theatre in Rouen he was called to Reims where he became music teacher, conductor of Societe Philharmonique and director of the musique de la legion de Rheims for many years until his death, inspite of his talent he did not fulfill a destiny to shine in the first rank, because of his devotion to his duties in Reims he remained unknown and forgotten outside of Reims
