born at East Reach and shortly after moved to 5 Paul Street in Taunton, 1871 at the age of 13 he was already a professional musician, 19.may.1886 he joined the freemason lodge Unanimity and Sincerity, 1888-1891 as professor of music and music teacher residing at 43 Fore Street in Taunton, 1900-1933 as piano, organ and music dealer residing at Haldene South Road in Taunton, 1914-1923 as agent for Kastner and Bechstein with pianoforte warehouses at 6 Fore Street Taunton and Friday Street Minehead ; son of blacksmith/whitesmith employer (mainly of his own children) John Baker (Somerset, Milverton 1820-1891 Taunton) and Mary Keirle (Somerset, Thornfalcon 1824-1894 Taunton) ; 1880 in Taunton he married Emma Anne Cetterer (Taunton 1853-1939 Taunton) ; their 5 children were all employed for some or longer time in their father's business
