organist, 11.may.1743 of Saint-Etienne in Dijon, 1750 studied music with Jean Philippe Rameau and organ with Pierre Fevrier in Paris, 1755-1782 his organ concerts at the Concert Spirituel gained him international reputation, 26.mar.1756 organist of Saint-Roche, 1.oct.1760 also of the Notre-Dame in Paris ; 2.jan.1763 in Paris he married Marie Genevieve Hotteterre (1743-30.oct.1763 Paris) ; 17.nov.1767 aged 42 at St Roch in Paris he married the 17 year old Marie Anne Toinette Boileau (1750-31.may.1828 Paris)
