New York, 1979-2004 piano teacher at the Berkshire Music School, 1972-2015 she resided in Great Barrington Massachusetts ; daughter of commercial traveler men's clothing Samuel Banks (Lithuania, Kovno 15.nov.1888-) and Matilda 'Tillie' Blostein (Lithuania 1897-) ; 28.dec.1948 she married Leonard Shapiro (New York 26.apr.1925-6.jul.1982 Boston) who left the family after they had raised 12 children
