singer, amateur song composer under the pseudonym Claribel, she had singing lessons from Euphrosyne Parepa and Charlotte Sainton Dolby and also from Giovanni Mario and Fabio Campana, 1857 studied a little music with William Henry Holmes in London, by 1900 of her more than 100 songs only a few had survived inspite of the popularity in England and America in her own time, although they were all still in the catalogs of the music publishers in 1900 mainly by Boosey in England and Brainard in America, she died from typhoid fever after nursing her stepsister in Dover who had contracted typhoid, 3.feb.1869 she was buried at the cemetery of St James's in Dover ; daughter of solicitor Henry Alington Pye and Charlotte Yerburgh ; 18.may.1854 at Saint George Hanover Square she married the rural pastor Charles Cary Barnard
