organist, choirmaster, Fellow of the Royal College of Organists (FRCO), 10.jun.1855 baptized at All Saints while residing at Churchfield in West Bromwich, 1870 as musical scholar residing with his parents at All Saints Street in West Bromwich, 1880-1890 teacher of music and organist of St Martin's Parish Church in Bowness-on-Windermere, residing at Biskeyhow Terrace, 1900-1912 as teacher of music and organist of St Martin's Parish Church residing at The Sunbeams on Lake Road in Bowness-on-Windermere, he played Mendelssohn's Wedding March at all weddings at St Martin's ; son of manufacturer William Henry Barton (West Bromwich 11.aug.1830-4.nov.1884 West Bromwich) and Jane Marsh (West Bromwich 1832-1900 West Bromwich) ; brother of composer Leonard Barton ; 12.apr.1882 at St Paul in Brighton he married Susannah Clowser (Sussex, Brighton 25.jul.1858-6.dec.1935 Birmingham) ; son schoolmaster Frank Barton (Bowness-on-Windermere 1886-)
