teacher of singing, pianist, at the age of nine months residing with , studied in Vienna and at the Konigliche Hochschule in Berlin with Wilhelm Berger, Anton Raff and Woldemar Bargiel, 4.mar.1893 debuted with the Berlin Philharmonic, 1896 teacher of singing at the Brooklyn School of Music in New York City, 1906 teacher of singing in London, 1910 as single teacher of singing residing with 2 servants and a gardener at Pollhill Farmhouse in Harrietsham Kent, among his pupils were Gervase Elwes, Susan Metcalfe, Hubert Eisdell, John Adams, Yves Tinayre and Lauritz Melchior, after the tragic death of Gervase Elwes (12.jan.1921 in a train accident near Boston) he founded the Musicians Benevolent Fund ; of hungarian parentage but brought up from the age of a few months by a German born aunt Clara Houran
