cornetist, bandmaster, oct.1867 emigrated to the USA and settled in Adams Indiana, 1874 moved to Cincinnati Ohio where he resided the rest of his life, 1874-1879 and 1889-1891 cornetist of the Cincinnati Reed Band, 1879 of the Red Hussar Band in Manhattan Beach Coney Island, of the Gilmore Band, 1886 professor of music at Cincinnati College of Music, 1892 with manager Louis M Ballenberg he founded the Bellstedt-Ballenberg Concert Band, 27.may.1902 in Cincinnati naturalized American, 1904 joined the Sousa Band, 1906 cornetist/bandmaster of the Innes Band, 1909-1912 bandmaster of the Denver Municipal Band, 1913 professor of wind instruments at Cincinnati Conservatory, died at the home of his son Herbert ; son of cigar maker/bandmaster Hermann Bellstedt sr. (Bremen nov.1836-1912 Cincinnati) and cornetist Anna Catherina 'Katie' (Bremen 1838-1916 Cincinnati) ; 1880 in Cincinnati he married Emma Roth (Ohio apr.1860-) ; sons musician Erwin Herman (Cincinnati 21.oct.1880-20.nov.1965 Cincinnati), musician Roland Ernst (Cincinnati 28.apr.1883-) and musician Herbert C (Cincinnati 22.jun.1888-)
