percussionist, xylophonist, mandolinist, bandmaster, studied piano with his brother harpist Giovanni (John), 1873-1879 graduated in xylophone from Conservatorio Sociedad Filarmonica Mexicana, c1876 he followed his brother who had already settled as musician 1873 and married 1875 in New York Manhattan, 1880-1882 as the Curti Brothers residing at the home of his brother at 188 Mulberry Street in New York Manhattan, 20.sep.1884 founded Orquesta Tipica Mexicana in Mexico City, Dec 1884 performing at the Industrial and Cotton Exhibition in New Orleans, 1886-1887 at the Star Theater in New York and stages in Los Angeles and Chicago, 1888-1889 bandmaster of Banda de Musica del Estado de Zacatecas, 1892 he lived with his wife at Calle de la Conception numero 6 in Mexico City, he conducted his 'Una boda en Santa Lucia' in Paris, Vienna and Madrid where it ran for 183 days, 1897 as musician residing at 257 West 122nd Street in New York Harlem, 1899 conductor of the orchestra at Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York, 17.aug.1899 he unsuccesfully competed in the contest for the post of bandmaster of Banda de Estado Mayor held at Conservatorio Nacional de Musica in Mexico City, 1902-1911 conductor at Teatro Circo Orrin in Mexico City, 1903 residing at 227 West 14th Street New York Manhattan he declared his intention to become a Citizen of the United States, 1905 as musician residing with his wife at 157 East 39th Street New York Manhattan, 1910-1912 as naturalized hotel musician residing with his wife and his brother at 200 Claremont Avenue, 1910 with his brother employed as musicians at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York Manhattan, 14.sep.1911 returned with his wife from a visit to his family in Potenza, 1914 residing with his wife in the Town of Esopus Ulster county NY, 1915 as musician visiting or boarding with family Lora and cellist Eugene de Bueris at 2029 Bathgate Avenue in New York Bronx, he spent his last years as teacher percussion, singing and piano at his musical academy at his home in San Rafael ; son of Francesco Curti and Carmela Siviglia ; brother of the pianist/harpist Giovanni (Juan) (John) Curti (Italy, ?Ferrandina 1850-19.nov.1920 New York Bronx) founder of the classes for harp at Conservatorio de la Sociedad Filarmonica Mexicana ; 8.mar.1892 in Mexico City he married Carmen Cooper (Germany, Berlin 1860-28.jan.1914 Manhattan (suicide) while residing in Esopus)
