captain, banker and apparently an amateur musician, the pseudonym A.D.E.W. was actually the collective pseudonym of Algernon Drummond and the composer Evelyn Wodehouse, 1851-1861 residing with his parents, sister, governess and 4 servants (butler, ladys maid, housemaid, cook) at Leckhampstead, 1865 he was in Punjab India, 1871 as lieutenant of the Rifle Brigade boarding at the Infantry Barracks in Woolwich Dockyard, 1881 as just (26.mar.1880) retired captain of the Rifle Brigade residing with his wife at the home of his father-in-law a retired barrister with 8 servants in Alresford Hampshire, 1891 as banker Charing Cross residing with wife, 6 children and 9 servants at Maltman's Green on Bull Lane in Gerrards Cross Buckinghamshire, 1901 same but now retired as 'late captain Rifle Brigade', wife, 3 children and 10 servants including butler and gardener, 1911 same but now with 1 son and 5 servants including gardener but no butler, at time of death residing at Preston House on Colebrook Street in Winchester ; son of reverend/rector of Leckhampstead Heneage Drummond (Buckinghamshire, Denham 7.jul.1810-12.sep.1881 Buckingham) and Cecily Elizabeth Drummond (London Mayfair 24.mar.1814-16.mar.1897 London) ; 2.oct.1879 in Alresford he married Margaret Elizabeth Benson (London Paddington 14.may.1856-3.may.1941 Winchester) ; first cousin of composer Evelyn Wodehouse (both were grandchildren of Andrew Mortimer Drummond Esq. (London 9.nov.1786-1.jun.1864 Buckinghamshire, Denham) and Lady Emily Charlotte Percy (London 1787-22.may.1877 Denham))
