singing teacher in schools and churches, music publisher, 1870 aged 21 at the death of his father Augustus D Fillmore he carried on his singing school and publishing business in Cincinnati which 1874 became the Fillmore Brothers publishing at 119 West 6th Street and later continued by his son at 522-528 Elm Street as Fillmore Music House band music publishing and music store, 1905-1915 residing at 4219 Grove Avenue and 2254 Park Avenue in Norwood Columbia township Cincinnati, 1920 residing with his single daughter Miss Fred at 2215 Fulton Avenue Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, leaving from San Francisco 5.nov.1921 and arriving at New York 29.jul.1922 with his daughter Miss Fred he made a world trip visiting many countries in Asia and Europe, he was buried at Spring Grove Cemetery Cincinnati ; son of composer Augustus Dameron Fillmore ; brother of the composers Frederick Augustus 'Fred' and Charles Millard ; father of bandmaster/composer James Henry Fillmore jr. known as Henry Fillmore ; 25.nov.1880 he married Annie Eliza McKrell (Kentucky, Mays Lick 5.mar.1852-23.feb.1913 Cincinnati) ; daughter church singer Fred E Fillmore Toll (Cincinnati 27.may.1886-11.oct.1969 Kentucky, Lawrenceburg) who married one month after the world trip with her father
