pianist, professor of music, 29.oct.1826 baptized at All Souls Church Marylebone, studied piano with Ignaz Moscheles, 1845 resided and gave concerts in Brussels, 1846 he was made an honorary member of the Societe de Grand Harmonie Brussels, 1846 he made a German tour playing in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, dec.1846-jan.1847 he played in Berlin with violinist Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst and later was for some time pianist to the Grand Duchesse Stephanie of Baden, 1850 settled in London as teacher and gave promenade concerts at Covent Garden, 1860 as fundholder he was partner of the Freemasons fundholders/printers William and George Kelly of 122 Marine Gardens in Brighton, he was friends with the composers George Linley and Robert Addison and the politician Thomas Blake, 4.jul.1864 he gave his second matinee (tickets 7 cents) at his residence 2 Sunderland Terrace Westbourne Park, 25.may.1870 gave his first of three concerts at a crowded St George's Hall, August 1871 and 1872 every Wednesday and Saturday he played his 'Marche bresilienne' and 'Stella valse' at the International Exhibition in London, January 1875 he attained the title of Master of St Mary's Freemasons Lodge No.63 of which he had been a Honorary member since 1857, known as Bro. Ignace Gibsone, 1880 aged 54 as retired professor of music residing at 31 Clarendon Gardens Paddington, at time of death residing at 25 Ashchurch Grove at Starch Green, buried at Paddington Old Cemetery ; son of teacher of music and singing James Gibson (Scotland, Edinburg 1801-6.nov.1860 London Peckham) and Ann (France 1804-30.oct.1828 London Marylebone) ; 18.oct.1855 he married Rosine Agnes Watts (London Holborn 2.nov.1828-15.jul.1886 London Paddington) with whom he had no children ; 27.dec.1889 he married Rosina Annette Horton Lloyd (London Holborn 8.jan.1851-18.jul.1942 London Wallington) with whom he had two children, William Henry (Pimlico 28.dec.1886-) and Janet Florence Louisa (Hammersmith 4.may.1890-)
