pianist, piano teacher, organist of the Nieuwe Kerk in Haarlem, studied at C G Voorhelm Schneevoogt Muziekschool Haarlem and the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, until 12.nov.1860 he ran a shop in 'Tabak, Snuif, Sigaren, Koffij en Thee' at the Lange Veerstraat and resided at Hooimarkt no.128a in Haarlem, 16.dec.1871 (birthday of Beethoven) with D L van der Heijden and Johannes Bastiaans founder of the Haarlemsche Bachvereeniging which acquired international fame and gave concerts with the Concertgebouworkest under Willem Mengelberg, he was honorary member of the Koninklijke liedertafel 'Zang en Vriedschap' Haarlem, 7.may.1878 he gave a Soiree Musicale on harmonium for the Louisa Stichting, Societeit 'de Kroon' Haarlem, 12.may.1883 he offered for sale 'voor matigen prijs' the organ of the Janskerk te Haarlem, 1881-1883 he resided at Leidschevaart 112, 1892 retired ; 20.oct.1853 he married P E Liernur who survived him ; daughter Lamberdina Catharina Elizabeth (Haarlem 1856-5.may.1889 Haarlem) ; daughter (Haarlem 28.apr.1860-) ; their first son Jacobus Eliza (Haarlem 25.apr.1866-16.apr.1867) died eleven months old
