pianist, teacher in art and music, born at 36 Chisholm Road in a family of amateur musicians, self-taught in music, 1938 teacher/missionary in Uganda and residing at Hayes Court in Kenley Surrey, 1946-1960 residing at Chatley Dens, 25 Rothamsted Avenue in Harpenden (between Luton and St Albans), 1947 she worked as land agent in Zanzibar, 1949 at 9 Crossway in Harpenden, c1965 when her sons Richard (1949-) and John Hubert (1951-) started playing guitar, she bought a mandolin from the Luton Music shop and became friends with the shop owner's daughter mandolinist Irene Bone, she joined the London Mandolin Ensemble, 1978-1983 residing at 9 Kirkwick Avenue in Harpenden, 1986 she was mentioned by Alfred Einstein in his book 'Greatness in music', as composer she always remained amateur, never copyrighted anything, just enjoyed the success of her works which were even published in the USA and used as examination pieces in music schools, died at Springfields Care Home in Bridestowe ; daughter of Officer of the British Empire (OBE) civil engineer Oscar Faber (London Lambeth 5.jul.1886-7.may.1956 Luton Hospital while residing at 25 Rothamsted Road Harpenden) and civil servant Helen Joan Mainwaring (London Camberwell 6.jul.1881-1967 St Albans) ; 1947 in Uckfield Sussex she married Commander of the British Empire (CBE) diplomat and civil servant in Zanzibar Richard Hercules Wingfield Pakenham (Ireland, Dublin 15.may.1906-1993 St Albans)
