pianist, inherited her musical talents from her amateur musician parents, studied piano with Louis Moreau Gottschalk and Raccoman, voice with Giorgio Ronconi, counterpoint and harmony with the best German masters who visited the US, 1850 attending school and living with her parents at the home of her grandfather Henry Kilbourn in Hartford, 1870 she and her husband lived at the home of her father at 396 5th Avenue New York, 1880 she was widowed and lived at the same address with her father and 6 servants, apparently the family possessed a cabinet organ, she was a patron of the Metropolitan Opera House, her songs were sung by Adelina Patti, 1897 she commissioned Adolfo Muller-Ury to paint a portrait of bass Pol Plancon which was exhibited March 1897 at the Durand-Ruel Gallery New York, some years before her death she had made her home at Hotel Ansonia 2109 Broadway in Manhattan, buried at Green Wood Cemetery Brooklyn ; daughter of physician/homeopath Erastus Edgerton Marcy (Massachusetts Hampshire, Greenwich 9.dec.1815-27.dec.1900 New York City) and Emeline Babcock Kilbourn (Hartford 1818-17.oct.1904 New York City) who married 2.nov.1837 in Hartford ; sister of Nina Marcy Stedman (New York City 1854-1.oct.1910 Mt Kisco) who married lawyer Ernest G Stedman (Hartford 20.oct.1845-) ; 26.oct.1860 in New York City she married merchant captain Edward A Raymond (NY 1836-) and was widowed by 1880, they had no children and she never remarried
