flutist, pianist, grew up in Haarlem, he was flutist in the orchestra 'Kunst en Vermaak' under Johannes Bernardus van Bree and in the Schutterij (civic guard) of his father in Haarlem, 23.mar.1843 he performed on piano (with Jan Willem on clarinet, Wigbold on violin and the orchestra 'Kunst en Vermaak') at the Groot Vocaal en Instrumentaal Concert at the Schouwburg in Haarlem, 12.aug.1852 he and his father and brother received a royal 'eereteken tot belooning van eervolle langdurige dienst bij de schutterijen' ; son of Jan Willem ; brother of Wigbold
