violinist, mandolinist, conductor, studied violin in Buffalo, taught stringed instruments in Newark New Jersey, he wrote monthly articles in Jacobs' Band Monthly, he developed a 'chord system' and wrote an extensive course for banjo based on this chord system, 1885-1893 music teacher and musical instrument dealer while residing with his mother and sister at 366 Broadway, 15 Spruce Street and 12 West Mohawk Street in Buffalo, 1895 until the death of his wife he resided in Newark New Jersey, 1917 active in Boston, 1929 active in Montclair ; son of tailor Johann (John) Weidt (Germany, Mecklenburg 1821-c1878 Buffalo) and Ernestina (Germany, Mecklenburg apr.1822-a1900 Newark) ; 1889 he married Ida M (New Jersey jun.1859-b1940 Newark)
