organist, choirmaster, professor of music, born at 256 High Street in Exeter St David and grew up at Claremont Terrace (villas) 62 Blackboy Road in Exeter St Sidwell, he resided at Blackall Road in Exeter St David nearly all his life: ~1880-1891 with his parents at 1/151 Blackall Rd, 1891-1920~ married at 33 Blackall Rd, 1901 organist/teacher of music of Saint Sidwell's Church of England School in Exeter St Sidwell, 15.apr.1905 he gave an organ recital at the Parish Church of Wellington Somerset, 1907-1908 conductor/rehearser of the 100 voice Harmonic Society of Wellington, 15.jan.1907 he gave an organ recital at St George's in Tiverton, 1907-1908 conductor of St Anne's Choral Society and the Operatic Society in Exeter, after 1920 choirmaster of St George's in Tiverton, 1926 conductor of the Oratorio Society in Exeter, he died at Tiverton Hospital while residing at Bridge Street in Uffculme near Tiverton ; son of grocer and tobaconist William Clement Allen (Exeter 27.jun.1826-29.oct.1903 Exeter) and Jane Parminter Harvey (Barnstaple 1824-1874 Exeter) ; 1891 he married school governess Sarah Alice Veitch (Devon, Topsham 1864-11.oct.1920 London while residing in Exeter)
