cornetist, pianist, bandmaster, 1893 aged 16 his family emigrated to Canada, 1898 aged 21 he emigrated from Canada to the USA Chicago, he advertized 'Allen's Band and Orchestra, music furnished for all occasions, Edgar G Allan, composer and bandmaster, 921 East 62nd Street Chicago', 1910 as motorman of Streel Railway residing at 4718 St Lawrence Avenue in Chicago, 1917 bandmaster of the National Veterans' Reserve Corps Military Band, 1917-1923 residing at 850 East Marquette Road in Chicago, 1917 as expert motorman of Chicago Surface Line and 1920 as private piano teacher, 16.jul.1917 he gave a band concert at Holstein Park, he died on a visit to his parents-in-law in St Louis Missouri, 21.aug.1923 his funeral at Daylight Church Chicago was under auspices of Carnation Lodge no.900 and Montjoie Commandery No.53 K.T. functioned as escort ; son of Magnus Alm (Finland, Dansbacka 30.jan.1843-10.may.1926 Hazelcliffe Saskatchewan) and Amanda Sofia Fagerstrom (Finland, Dragsfjard 29.aug.1842-16.oct.1911 Winnipeg) ; 24.jul.1905 in Chicago he married Ethel Forrest Evans wid Patterson (Virginia sep.1878-1961 Illinois, Villa Park)
