violinist, conductor, 1873 aged 8 studied music with Pedro H Ceniceros in Durango City and 1875 with Manuel Herrera, 1876 aged 11 violinist in the orchestra of a Spanish musical company, 1883 aged 18 violinist and conductor in the Italian opera company of Angela Peralta, later he founded Banda de la Escuela Correccional del Estado in Durango, 10.oct.1892 the band played at the three-day celebrations to mark the opening of the first mexican railway, 1893 he performed at the World Exposition in Chicago where he competed with orchestras of greats like Johann Strauss and Theodore Thomas, as director of an opera company he toured the USA performing in Chicago, Atlanta, Buffalo and New Orleans, for 11 years he was conductor of Banda del Estado de Durango, 1907 and 1910 he toured the USA again with an opera company, by 1930 he had been awarded with 11 gold and 3 silver decorations and several 1st prizes at competitions and World Expositions, more than 1000 compositions were published in Mexico, Spain, Germany and the USA, although only about 50 in Mexico and only a few internationally can be identified
