professor of dancing, 4.aug.1851 an artist named Edouard Leblanc arrived at Newhaven England from Dieppe France: he may have been the dancer who is the subject of this page, before he came to London he had been active as teacher of dancing in Paris, 1873 apparently came to London from France because from 28.oct.1873 in London he advertized weekly 'Mr. Edouard Leblanc and daughters teach daily all the fashionable dances, as the Valse a Trois Temps, a Deux Temps, Galop, &c., to adults of any age, on an easy and rapid method. Private lessons at any hour. Address 22 Hart-street, Oxford-Street, W.C.', 1873-1887 professor of dancing at 22 Hart Street in London Bloomsbury, 1873 assisted by his daughters, 1875-1880 assisted by his daughter professor of dancing Miss Rose Leblanc, 1881-1883 but possibly most of his active years assisted by his daughters, in many of his advertizements he spoke of Lady assistants, 22.feb.1887 was his last weekly advertizement 'Mr. Edouard Leblanc, with Lady assistants, teaches all the ball-room dances to ladies and gentlemen of any age and wholly unacquainted with the art. Private lessons at any hour. Classes held for his new Waltz-Quadrille La Nationale, 22 Hart-street Bloomsbury-square, W.C. a few doors from Oxford-street', his whereabouts after 1887 cannot be traced, he may have died or returned to France
