hornist, town hall secretary by profession, studied horn with Stennebruggen at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg and the Conservatoire Imperial de Paris, 1869 1e accessit horn, 1872 2nd prix horn, 1868 hornist in the orchestra of l'Opera de Paris, he founded Fanfare de l'Ill (fanfare of hunting horns) in Strasbourg for which he composed many pieces, his numerous melodies for voice and guitar or piano, as well as piano pieces, were very fashionable at the time in the circle of families in Strasbourg ; 20.jan.1876 in Strasbourg he married Marie Weimer (Strasbourg 14.jul.1855-1.jan.1920 Strasbourg)
