violist, bass trumpeter, called himself and his parents German, 1883 emigrated to the USA, 1885 as musician residing at 444 North Wells Street in Chicago, 19.oct.1887 came as musician from Antwerpen to New York, 1890 he became violist and bass trumpeter in the newly founded Chicago Symphony Orchestra, 1892 residing at 729 Wells Street, 27.sep.1892 he became naturalized American, 20.oct.1894 bass trumpeter and violist in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, 1900 as violinist residing at 168 Lincoln Avenue in Chicago, 1910-1920 as musician in an orchestra residing at 2614 Halsted Street in Chicago, 1925 he began his 35th season in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, 1930 without employment (retired) residing at 4533 North Damen Street in Chicago ; 1912 he married Annie Klose (England, Hull 22.mar.1861-17.dec.1931 Chicago)
