Anders, Horace Rosenberger 16.sep.1860-31.jan.1923 USA Pennsylvania, Skippack - Philadelphia
pianist, organist, bandmaster, music teacher, mainly an arranger for band, grew up and probably actually born in Perkiomen 2 miles from Skippack, studied piano and organ with his father, 1878 began giving piano lessons, 1880-1890 organized and conducted the Weber Amateur Orchestra, 1890 as clerk residing at Stenton Avenue in Philadelphia Pittville, 1892 bandmaster of the Athletic Band of Philadelphia which 1895 became the 3rd Regiment Pennsylvania National Guard Band later known as Anders' 3rd Regiment Band, 1895 as music teacher residing with his father at 1650 North 8th Street in Philadelphia, 1897 as music teacher residing at 1608 North 12th Street, 1901 bandmaster of the Philharmonic Band of Wilmington Delaware, 1902 bandmaster for 3 months of the 1st Brigade Band engaged at Asbury Park New Jersey, 1907-1923 bandmaster at the Widener School for Crippled Children in Philadelphia, music teacher at Girard College, he was buried at Schwenkfelder Cemetery in Worcester Pennsylvania ; son and only child of composer David H Anders
and Mary Hockman Rosenberger (Philadelphia Springfield 7.oct.1830-24.mar.1895 Philadelphia) ; he married Isabella 'Belle' Kellogg (Michigan 9.feb.1857-31.may.1922 Philadelphia)
