mezzosoprano, studied at Hunter College in New York City, studied voice with Arturo Buzzi-Peccia, 1910 aged 18 already a professional opera singer, 1910-1954 residing at her parents home 56 West 68th Street in New York Manhattan, 12.jan.1918 she debuted in Mascagni's 'Lodoletta' at the Metropolitan Opera in New York with Geraldine Farrar and Enrico Caruso, for 8 years she sang with the Metropolitan Opera Company, concertized throughout America and Europe, 1943 at the death of Buzzi-Peccia she became copyright holder (executor) of all his compositions, 1950 teaching and coaching singers at her studio-residence 56 West 68th Street, 1954-1969 residing with her husband in Rome Italy, 1970 after her husband's death she lived in Wautoma Wisconsin, 1973 in Madison ; daughter of real estate broker Benjamin Hart (Charleston 25.dec.1849-c1927 Manhattan) and landlady boarding house Mildred (Springfield Illinois 28.feb.1870-a1945) ; 1954 she married the italian submarine officer Ardito Tievoli
