pianist, organist, tenor singer, 1900 boarding with his grandparents Morris and Emma Wright at 4012 Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago, 1908 in Chicago he established a music factory, composing music on order by mail to the words of lyricists from all over the USA and Canada and sold them the copyright, 1908-1909 he advertized his services for 'superior music and excellent arrangements' in the Chicago Tribune, 1910 as teacher of music residing at 34 Q Street North West in Washington DC, unknown how he offered his service to lyricists from 1910, 1910-1923 organist and choirmaster of the St Aloysius Church Georgetown, 1912 for his clients he changed to the publisher H. Kirkus Dugdale Co. Washington DC (the music factory, mass production of music and arrangements on order by mail for would-be lyricists and composers from all over the world. By 1911 dominating the song production industry but 1915 went bankrupt after being indicted for mail fraud in 1913), for his 'own' music he always kept his Chicago publishers, 1919-1929 he did not compose music, 1918-1920 as insurance agent residing at 1542 First Street North West in Washington DC, 1930 as manager chain store residing with wife and 8 children at 4231 Monroe Street, after 1932 he no longer composed music, 1932-1938 teacher of singing and piano, 1938-1942 as organist of Holy Trinity Church residing at 4402 Illinois Avenue North West ; son of farmer Daniel Peter Ashley (NY, Grafton 17.sep.1845-13.aug.1935 Michigan, Kalamazoo) and Jesse F Wright (NY, Clyde 1861-1886/1889 Lansing (? on giving birth)) ; 17.dec.1906 he became stepson of Adella Jane Marshall (NY, Steuben 24.aug.1854-10.jan.1946 Michigan, Jackson) ; 15.oct.1907 in Chicago he married Catherine Elizabeth Hughes (Canada Ontario, Crysler 12.aug.1888-17.oct.1957 Washington DC)
