music teacher, musicologist, 1850 studied under Pfeiffer and Ridley Kohne at the Hangaszegyleti Zenede (Music Association) of Budapest, music teacher at the Institute for the Blind where he formed a band, 1862-1865 he formed and conducted his own orchestra performing alternately in Belgrade and Mehadia, 1874 he moved to Budapest and worked as a music teacher, 1880 he legally changed his surname to Avar, he died aged 57 of a stroke ; son of Jozsef Au and Magdolna Kuntser ; he married Amalia Halbauer
