not identified as composer or musician, 26.nov.1853 emigrated with his wife to the USA, 26.sep.1864 naturalized american, 1865-1881 as shoe maker/manufacturer residing with wife, son and a servant at 41 Schermerhorn Street and factory at 88 Court Street in Brooklyn, probably a member of the Brooklyn Saengerbund, 1890-1891 retired residing with his son at 185 Dean Street in Brooklyn, unknown when or where he died, possibly in Germany (his wife and son traveled to Germany 21.dec.1882, his son returned to the USA but his wife seems not to have returned) ; he married Julia (Germany Sachsen 1832-) ; they had one child civil engineer Charles Gustave (New Jersey, Newark 2.feb.1854-2.jan.1904 Brooklyn), 1872-1874 studied at Cornell University, 1877 graduate of Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute, member of the Brooklyn Saengerbund
